According to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), a Taipei-based ICT research institute, the global information service market is expected to arrive at US$836.8 billion this year, and is projected to reach US$948.9 billion in 2019, witnessing a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 4.4%, reported the China Times on May 27. Cloud service is the major growth driver, rising at a CAGR of 18.6% from US$45 billion in 2016 to US$73.1 billion in 2019—stronger than 3.7% of IT outsourcing and 3.6% of system integration. The trend is also felt in the Taiwanese information service market, which is expected to reach NT$164.6 billion (US$5.07 billion; US$1=NT$32.5) and NT$17.7 billion (US$540 million) in 2016 and 2019, respectively, seeing a CAGR of 4.1%. In particular, the Taiwanese cloud service market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.8%, surging from NT$13.6 billion (US$420 million) to NT$17.7 billion (US$540 million) between 2016 and 2019.
